Chariton Firemen Again Win State Firemen's Convention

The Chariton Volunteer Fire Department again brought home the first place trophy from the 2013 Iowa Firefighters Association Convention at Vinton.  The Chariton firemen won three events including the Thief Drill, the Advanced Leader Line Drill and the Hitching Post Drill.
The Chariton firemen had a fireman that placed second in the Hitching Post Drill.  They also had a fireman place second in the Coupling Drill and teams that placed second in the Replacing a Section of a Hose Drill and the Extending a Hydrant Line Drill.
Chariton placed first overall in the team standings with 31 points.  State Center was second with 17 and Russell placed third with seven.  Storm Lake was fourth with 6 points and Shellsburg was 5th with five points.  Williamson also participated and finished in a six-way tie for 12th with one point.
