Lucas County Fair is Celebrating 60 Years

Lucas County Fair dates are Saturday, July 26 to Thursday, Aug. 1 and we will be celebrating 60 years at the Chariton location, honoring the people that made it happen.  This is an exciting year for 4-H and for the county residents.
The Lucas County Fair Board encourages anyone in Lucas County (adults and youth) to take part in this fair by entering items in the Open Class departments.  You may pick up an Open Class fair book at the Extension Office on the fair grounds, The Sampler or Ben Franklin on the square or at the Senior Citizens meal site across from the Post Office.
Entry forms are found in the back of the book and may be turned in at the Extension Office from now until Friday, July 25 in order to have pre-printed tags.  You may also bring your entry form and entries on Sunday, July 27 from 2-6 p.m. or Monday, July 28, from 8 a.m. to noon.  Judging will start around 1 p.m on the 28th.
You are asked to read the General Rules and Regulations and the guidelines for each department found in the book to prevent any problems on the day of the entry.
This promises to be a very special fair for the residents of Lucas County and the Fair Association encourages you to participate by exhibiting and attending the fair activities and the free entertainment.
More details to come so mark your calendar now so you won't miss any of the fair.
